Medications (primarily blood thinners), prescription drugs and alcohol should not be consumed on the day of treatment. If you had or planning to have Botox, you must wait for 3 weeks before having this treatment. No heating treatments are to be done on the day of procedure such as laser or pulsed light treatments.
Clients may experience some discomfort and an aching feeling during the treatment. If you have the treatment on the forehead or jawline you may have a stinging sensation or mild headache.
Avoid exposing your skin to extremes of heat and cold and protect your skin with a sun block cream (SPF30). Your normal make-up regime can be followed immediately but avoid using skin care products that may irritate your skin for 24 hours.
Internal swelling and tenderness can occur in the treated area. Occasionally mild bruising can occur. However, may not be evident for several days following the treatment and often is greenish in colour. Most common areas for bruising are along the jawline and cheekbone.
Even without bruising, tenderness to the touch is possible. This is usually most evident along the jawline and cheekbone and most often noted when touching your face, washing or applying makeup. This will not interfere with eating, talking or moving your facial muscles and is only temporary.
